Plants

About a week ago we planted plants. Today they are thriving and well.

Some of them are gigantic. One of them is about 5 inches Long!

Unfortunately mine didn’t grow, but the good thing is that I’m replanting it!

Were taking pictures with the iPads to show the plants growth.

Family Literacy Event

We hosted a family literacy event yesterday – it was awesome!

Students and their families participated in 5 activities throughout the afternoon, including learning how to upload work to FreshGrade!  We accomplished a lot in a short time.

Station 1

Utilizing the Skitch app to take pictures and label them in Gitxsan.

We have Gitxsan keyboards on our iPads!

Station 2

Sewing an infinity scarf – they turned out beautifully!

Station 3

Teaching our families to play Mancala – best math game ever!

Station 4

Connecting to reading – we read Gitxsan stories and made connections to our lives!

Porcupine was a popular character.

Station 5

Using the Shadow Puppet app to make slideshows of the Gitxsan words we’re learning.

We got help from a granny and a dad who are fluent speakers – it was amazing!

See some of the videos we made at the bottom of this post!

We ended the afternoon with hot chocolate and fruit – mmmmmmmmm!!

A big thank you to Ms. Morgan and her daughter for all their work getting things ready!!

About iPads

Anything About iPads

We like iPads. iPads are cool, but sometimes boring. iPads have games that are fun.

This is Dustin.

This is Wyatt.

This is Slade.

This is Wyatt’s Slade’s and Dustin’s picture.

This is Cortez on his iPad. Cortez is on FreshGrade.

We got FreshGrade on our iPads with the Otter cases. We have our own iPads and they’re really fun. My teachers are Ms. Millar and Mr. Oldershaw.  We have six iPads. It is really exciting working on FreshGrade.

Alexis, Kaddi, Madison and Lexi

We just got iPads a few weeks ago for FreshGrade.

After we started fresh grade we took pictures of Lexi’s wolfaroo, Kaddi’s hand, and Madison’s hand and a picture of outside.

So we did our art a few weeks ago but it took long to make them.  Then after we finished it we hung it up outside our door on the on the bulletin board.

The iPad cases are heavy and they have a part on the back on the case that comes off and it can hold your iPad up.
